LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - If you've ever wanted to create a healthier lifestyle with your family, a new program at Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health teaches you how to do just that.
A four week long program called "Families United for Kid's Health" teaches families the importance of not only a healthy diet, but fun ways you can exercise with your family.
Registered Dietician Renee Tilt said the program includes games to help get family members active, as well as healthy cooking projects.
She said the $25 cost per family is a bargain.
"If you follow these simple things, lifestyle changes, absolutely the $25 is well worth hospital visits, and the care that you would need with all of the medical consequences from obesity," said Tilt.
On Thursday, families learned some exercises they can do right in the comfort of their own home.
While this session is over, the next session will begin in May. Tilt said families can begin signing up now.
To find out how to sign your family up for the class, call (765) 449-5133.
