FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) - The fight over a road paving project continued in Clinton County Friday evening.

Clinton County residents held an ice cream social to help raise money for attorney fees.

The attorney fees are needed after residents won an injunction against paving County Road 450 West last month.

It's an $80,000 project the county commissioners approved during their early August meeting.

Several residents said County Commissioner Mike Beard wants the road paved because his home sits off that road. But Beard said he wants it done because a nature preserve is located there.

One of the organizers of the ice cream social said it's time to take a stand.

"Elected officials are trying to do things for themselves and trying to take things away from taxpayers and say they're going to run things the way they want to. Taxpayers are finally standing up and saying no," said Richelle Lutz.

Lutz said there will be more events to raise money for the cause in the future including an upcoming chili supper.
