CAMDEN, Ind. (WLFI) - A fire in a family's Christmas tree damages their home.

It happened in the 4800 block of E. 600 North in Carroll County.  Firefighters said holiday lights ignited the family's tree and by the time crews got to the scene, the fire was roaring.

“We got the call approximately 7:35 this morning that a Christmas tree was on fire.  And by the time we got on arrival, we had a fully engulfed in the room where the tree the fire started,” said Camden Fire Chief Chuck Foreman.

No people were hurt in the fire, but the family’s puppy and cat weren’t able to make it out of the house.
