WILLIAMSPORT, Ind. (WLFI) - Part of a post office wall was left in pieces after being hit by a car Thursday afternoon in Williamsport.
It happened around 1:30 p.m. at the post office on East 2nd Street.
The town marshal said a vehicle driven by Attica resident Victor Howard veered off the road for an unknown reason, side-swiped a parked truck, hit the brick wall supporting an overhang near the post office entrance, then crossed a parking lot, flattened a stop sign and hit another utility pole.
A witness told investigators Howard passed out before the incident, but it was not clear why. He was taken to an area hospital.
Officials said drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors.
