LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A car crash shut down part of Salem Street for 45 minutes Monday morning.
According to police, a Ford F-250 hauling a trailer was traveling southbound on Ninth Street and failed to stop at the stop light. It collided with a Ford Escape traveling west on Salem, sending both vehicles into the Hippensteel funeral home.
A passenger in the Escape was taken to Saint Elizabeth Central with non-life threatening injuries.
Drugs and alcohol don't appear to be a factor.
The crash is still under investigation.
