Canal Days takes place in Delphi

DELPHI, Ind. (WLFI) - A little history, a little music, and some cooler weather on Sunday made it a good day to be near the Erie Canal. Canal Days was taking place all weekend in Delphi.

The Wabash and Erie Canal Association organized the event. The event offered people a look into what a village in the early days of America might have looked like.

Canal Days participant Craig Hall said the heat from Saturday might have kept some people away, but he said it felt much better on Sunday.

"The heat yesterday was rough, but we all got through it," said Hall. "It's a good time.  We're outside, the sun is shining, it's not raining, hopefully we get some.  It's a perfect day to come out and check out what we got."

There were also free tours of the Erie Canal, and trails open for biking or walking.
