FOUNTAIN COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - Calculation issues slowed things down Tuesday night in Fountain County.
Results started pouring into the Fountain County Courthouse in Covington around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday. But things slowed down when staff members from the clerk's office found out they would have to hand-count votes from two precincts.
Fountain County Clerk Patty Gritten said a card was taken out of a machine at a polling place before the machine was properly turned off. Therefore, the computers would not read the memory card so staff members had to go through the print outs and hand punch the ballots for Richland 1 and 2.
The total numbers weren't revealed until 10:30 p.m.
