CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. (WLFI) - UPDATE: The Montgomery County Coroner's office confirm the deceased is 28-year-old Brandon Vailes of Crawfordsville Friday. The Coroner's office responded Friday afternoon to a report of a deceased male near Sugar Creek behind the Elston Ball Diamonds.

An autopsy conducted Saturday afternoon determined the cause of death to be injuries from a fall from the bridge.

Montgomery County Coroner David Hunt said foul play is not suspected, but the case remains under investigation at this time.

Crawfordsville Police Chief Kurt Knecht said the body was recovered near Sugar Creek near U.S. 231 Friday, and that next of kin were being notified, according to The Paper of Montgomery County.

Crawfordsville Police Department is handling the investigation. Police tell The Paper of Montgomery County Vailes died as a result of a fall from the bridge over U.S. 231. Police said a lady walking her dog found the body on the bank of Sugar Creek.
