LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Blood Center are bringing the 13th annual Bleed Blue Blood Drive to Lafayette this weekend.
On Saturday, participants will receive a regulation-sized Colts football featuring Colts Head Coach Chuck Pagano (while supplies last) for giving blood.
The annual, month-long Bleed Blue Blood Drive traditionally attracts more than 5,000 donors to Indiana Blood Center each December. It’s a time when blood supplies can get low due to the busy holiday season.
Blood supply at Indiana Blood Center supports IU Health Arnett and Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health hospitals, along with more than 60 other hospitals around Indiana over the holidays and throughout the year.
Saturday’s blood drive runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Indiana Blood Center location at the Market Square Shopping Mall, 2200 Elmwood Avenue.
Appointments are encouraged, because openings to donate fill up quickly. To schedule an appointment, visit the Indiana Blood Center website or call 800-632-4722.
