MONTICELLO, Ind. (WLFI) - Preliminary autopsy results show a Lafayette boy died of electrocution from a faulty electrical wire while swimming in Lake Freeman.
13-year-old Zachary Crays died July 25 while swimming with friends in Lake Freeman in front of Angel Shore Resorts.
White County coroner Mike Ott says the autopsy results are consistent with witness statements and evidence at the scene.
The Carroll County Sheriff's department says the children started to feel a tingling sensation. Some were able to get out of the waterr, but when Crays reached the dock, he fell back and was found face down by the boat lift.
Ott is still waiting for toxicology results, which he says can take up to a month.
He said he does not anticipate any change in the cause of death.
