WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Astronauts talked to students looking to make a difference in space exploration.

Purdue alumni Andrew Feustel and Scott Tingle spoke to Purdue students and the public about their experiences in the space program Friday evening.

Feustel was aboard the final flight of Space Shuttle Endeavor in 2011, while Tingle was selected in 2009 to be part of the 20th NASA astronaut class.

They encouraged students to follow their dreams and turn them into a journey that begins at Purdue.

"It puts perspective in place for the kids, showing them that if they put their mind to something, they can accomplish their goals and they can do something as big as going to space," said Space Day Director Sarah St. Clair.

Astronaut David Wolf will join Feustel and Tingle Saturday for Space Day at Purdue. Kids will make rockets, have an egg dropping contest, and enjoy plenty of other activities.
