Lafayette holds annual Christmas dinner

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - It takes lots of volunteers to make the annual Lafayette Community Christmas Dinner happen. With thousands coming through the serving lines lots of help was needed.

Stephen Bultinck began volunteering at Lafayette's Christmas Dinner 9 years ago.

"Speaking on behalf of the other volunteers we all grew up warm, dry and fed, and we're taking care of those who maybe aren't warm dry and fed this Christmas," he commented.

Which is why he and nearly 150 other volunteer work hard every year to make this event happen.

From the meals served to the toys each and every child receives, they know the difference it makes in the lives of people like Cheryl Gentry and her family.

"It's for the whole community. The homeless, low poverty people and everything and I think they should come and enjoy themselves and have a good merry Christmas," said Gentry.

Another Christmas and another year of holiday hope and cheer shared with the greater Lafayette community.
