American Red Cross preparing for July

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The American Red Cross is starting preparations for July, the Disaster Education and Awareness Month.

The Red Cross is already taking blood donation appointments.

The non-profit supplies 40 percent of the nation's blood and offers disaster relief.

With Disaster Education and Awareness Month, the group is offering volunteer and sponsor opportunities at blood drives.

There is a blood drive scheduled for July 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Stewart Center Bikeway on the Purdue University Memorial Mall.
