LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A Sunday morning trip to the grocery store turned out to be nightmare for some, after a man robbed the store at gunpoint.
Lafayette police said the robbery occurred around 11:30 Sunday morning at the Aldi on 957 Sagamore Parkway South in Lafayette.
According to police, the suspect entered the store and acted as a customer until he demanded money from the register. Police said he displayed what appeared to be a handgun.
Police said the man did get away with an undisclosed amount of money, and is still on the loose.
The suspect is described as a white male, between 5 feet 4 inches and 5 feet 6 inches tall. Police said he's between 40 and 50 years old.
At the time of the robbery, police said he was wearing a dark colored shirt and blue jeans. No one was hurt during the robbery.
