REYNOLDS, Ind. (WLFI) - A woman is killed after a motorcycle and a pickup truck collide in White County.
It all happened just before 9:00 Thursday morning at the intersection of US 421 and Jefferson Street in Reynolds.
Sheriff's deputies said 64-year-old Clifford Crownover of Hebron was riding his motorcycle south on 421. His wife, Diane, was also riding on the motorcycle.
56-year-old Dwayne Hunt of Buffalo, Indiana was driving west on Jefferson Street in his pickup truck. Deputies said when Hunt crossed 421, he crashed into the Crownovers' motorcycle.
Hunt told investigators that he stopped at the stop sign and didn't see the motorcycle before he pulled into the intersection.
Clifford and Diane Crownover were taken to IU Health White Memorial Hospital before being airlifted to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Diane Crownover was pronounced dead at the hospital. At last check, deputies said Clifford Crownover was in critical condition.
Authorities said alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The Crownovers were both wearing helmets.
Randy Emrich lives at the intersection where the accident took place. He said he has taken action in order to prevent accidents like this from happening.
"I had a neighbor tell me that it was hard to see traffic coming from the north because of the big bush so I cut the bush down," said Emrich.
The crash is still under investigation.
