LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Honor dad on Friday, June 18th by going casual and help the March of Dimes at the same time. The Denim for Dads campaign encourages people to wear blue jeans and make a $5 donation to the March of Dimes. Money raised helps improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects and premature birth. Division Director Emily Maresh said Denim for Dads honors the role fathers play in the lives of their children.
"They too are affected by prematurity. We know the main focus is usually on the mom and getting the mom healthy but dads do play a role," Maresh said.
Businesses can get involved by encouraging their employees to wear blue jeans on Friday. For more information contact the local March of Dimes office at (765) 448-6641.
If you could like to wear jeans and make a donation, the following businesses are authorized to take the donations:
March of Dimes, Sagamore Division, Lafayette
Hoosier Heartland State Bank (any location in Montgomery County)
Essentials Hair Studio, Crawfordsville
Grimes Insurance, Crawfordsville
