LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Planned Parenthood strikes back with a denial at recent allegations from Indiana Right To Life

A news conference happened Monday morning in Lafayette by Indiana Right to Life.

Indiana Right to Life claims the Indiana Planned Parenthood (PPIN) facility is performing abortions even though it is not inspected or licensed as required by law. The group is pushing for an immediate investigation.

According to Indiana Right to Life, in attendance at the news conference is expected to be Connie Basham, member of Tippecanoe Right to Life and former Tippecanoe County Council member; Sue Swayze, Legislative Director at Indiana Right to Life; and Cera McCarragher, a representative from Purdue University Students for Life.

Planned Parenthood responded Monday afternoon. CEO Betty Cockrum said Right To Life has made false accusations.

“While we’re not shocked that these extremists would stoop to these tactics, we are disappointed that they would flat-out lie," Cockrum said. "The fact is that our health center in Lafayette, like our other 27 health centers across the state, provides its services in accordance with Indiana law, without fail."

According to Planned Parenthood's website concerning its Lafayette Health Center, abortion services are offered at the facility including:

Abortion pill (medication abortion)
Pre- and post-abortion patient education
Post-abortion follow-up exams
Referrals for other abortion services, as needed
