Cumberland Ave. reconstruction begins

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Despite near freezing temperatures, the reconstruction of Cumberland Avenue is getting underway.

City Engineer Dave Buck said contractors have started to drain the pond at the corner of U.S. 52 and Cumberland Avenue.

He said grading work will begin once the ground freezes again.

All the work will be done outside lanes of travel and will not require any lanes to be closed. Buck said actual road construction should begin in March (weather permitting.)

The Cumberland Avenue Reconstruction Project includes a roundabout at the intersection of Cumberland and Kent Avenues, improved streets and sidewalks.
