LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Indiana Pacers mascot Boomer bounced around to the beat to show children how to exercise.
Boomer and Pacers player Dahntay Jones lead a workout to encourage about 50 kids at the Lafayette Lyn Treece Boys and Girls Club to get fit. Pacers Community Relations Representative Richard Smith said the key to motivating children to exercise is making it fun.
"They don't realize it, but they are working their heart and they are doing a great aerobic exercise and Boomer is the icing on the cake. He makes it easy,” he explained.
Boomer's Boot Camp also teaches youngsters about nutrition.
