LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Local girls now have the chance to be a princess for the night and help others at the same time.

Lafayette Moms Like Me is presenting the area's first Cinderella Ball.

"Because our site is so entrenched in local news and information for moms, we thought this was a great fit for us to get involved with a local agency and be able to kind of spread the word through different avenues with them," Lafayette.MomsLikeMe.com site manager Kara Bishop said.

The father-daughter event benefits Family Services Inc. The evening includes dinner, ballroom dancing lessons, carriage rides and a visit from Cinderella and Prince Charming. Family Services Executive Manager Mike Warner said the event fits with the organization's mission.

"If we are able to take this event and give both the fathers and the daughters a memory then we've done our job," Warner said.

The girls are encouraged to bring donated items like books and toys to benefit the Healthy Families program.

The Cinderella Ball will be held on Saturday, April 24 at the Elks Club in Lafayette. Tickets are $50 dollars a person.
