LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A Lafayette mental health facility will close at the end of September 2010.
Cummins Behavioral Health Systems at 427 North Sixth Street near downtown Lafayette will transition 200 clients to the Wabash Valley Hospital, now known as River Bend Hospital.
Cummins CEO Ann Borders said the reason for the change is a shift in behavioral health treatment. Many providers are switching from traditional outpatient services to a community care design. The Lafayette Cummins facility provides only outpatient services.
The center's eight employees were offered positions at other Cummin's locations in the state.
