LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A semi-truck accident shut down the northbound lanes of I-65 north of State Road 43 around 8:00 a.m. on Friday.
Master Trooper Bill Brooks says the State Police received a call about a semi that had been swerving for about ten miles. Police said the truck was driven by C. Ray Smith of West Brooklyn, Illinois.
Brooks said by the time troopers caught up with the truck, it was already crashed, overturned in the middle of the northbound lanes near the 183 mile marker of I-65.
This semi was transporting 10 new Toyota Camrys. Two of the cars came loose and rolled down the interstate.
All 10 of the Camrys were damaged. One was totaled.
Brooks said no one was injured in the wreck. Smith was cited for unsafe lane movement.
Traffic on the interstate was restricted for about two hours.
