House fire closes State Road 26 East

Road closed as crews evacuate building

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - Emergency crews have closed State Road 26 East in the 8200 block due to a house fire.

The home on fire is located on 26 between county roads 775 East and 900 East.

Multiple crews have been called to the scene.

Our crew on the scene has observed heavy black smoke billowing from the home. Firefighters were able to get closer to the home as the afternoon progressed.

There is no word yet as to whether anyone was in the house at the time, and it is yet unknown how the fire was sparked.

WLFI will update this story with more information as it becomes available.
