OTTERBEIN, Ind (WLFI) - The Otterbein and Wabash Township Fire Departments made
an early Christmas morning response, to a two story home on
Walnut street near Otterbein.
Firefighters said when they arrived at the home just off
highway 52,
the house fully engulfed.
Otterbein Fire Chief Greg Booth said he lives near by,
and could see the glow from his house.
"I came across 500 N, out here to the scene. I was
probably 3 miles out and looked across the field. I saw this
big glow. It looked like the sun was coming up here. It was a fully
involved structure right off the bat," said Booth.
Booth said the home was not occupied and the structure is a
total loss.
The Otterbein fire department is still investigating the
cause of the fire.
