LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - 30 days and 30 ways to help end hunger in America: that's the goal of Hunger Action Month.
John Arnold is a national leader in hunger issues. He was in Lafayette giving food pantries and food banks creative ways to end hunger in the community.
He said of the 180 billion pounds of food thrown away in America, 32 billion pounds could be saved and used in food pantries around the country. He said it is time to get creative.
"That would be products such as holiday promotional items a product that is linked in with a movie that turns out not to be the blockbuster they were hoping for," Arnold said.
