Fashion show thanks women for support

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - More than twenty women did their turns on the catwalk for Helen Magazine at University Plaza. The locally published magazine for women hosted their third annual fashion show emceed by NewsChannel 18's own Laura Kirtley. Women featured in the magazine over the past year got to strut their stuff in clothing and accessories from local stores. Co-publisher Sharon Martin said the fashion show is a way to say thank you to the women who have supported the magazine.

"Helen would not be here if it was not for the support of the women who love this magazine and love this organization and we know that we are successful because of the women that we have in this community. So, it's our way of saying thank you back to them and letting them have a little fun, but at the same time, it's a way for us to say we have a lot of work yet to do and if we all band together we can do a really great thing here in the community," said Martin.

Businesses featured in the event were Chico's in West Lafayette, Etcetera, and Heathcliff in Crawfordsville.
