FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) - Clinton County is one of many in the state that is considering making budget cuts wherever it can, and that may include the Parkview home in Frankfort.

Residents said it was much to their surprise that Parkview is one of many county offices that has to be reviewed for cuts.

Parkview resident Bill Minnich said the dedicated staff has helped to make Parkview a quiet and comfortable place to reside at. He said to close it would be a disservice.

"It shocks me that all of a sudden comes up and was in the paper that they are out $250,000 per year here which makes no sense to me," said Minnich.

County Council President Steve Woods said no decision has been made to close Parkview. He said a committee was selected to review all county offices.

"We do understand that the county homes throughout the state there is about 40 left out of 92. We have looked at Parkview as well as the other offices in the county. This is a very tight year on budgets," said Woods.

Wood added the budget at Parkview will be something they will have to look at on a year to year basis.

"At this point they would recommend that it not close down, not that it has been an issue. They said at best it would be a very long term process. There is not a sacred cow in the community that we won't look at as far as budgets and we have to and it's distressing for all of the office," said Woods.

Clinton County will hold an open budget meeting on Tuesday, August 31st, at 9:00 a.m. in the County Commissioner's Room.
