WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A nearly $100 million dollar facility is finally open to students at Purdue.

Tuesday, the university officially opened the new France A. Cordova Recreational Sports Center.

The addition to the old recreation center includes more fitness spaces, six multi-purpose courts and a rock climbing wall.

"We've got a wellness sweet to support health and wellness activities for our students and so I think they're finding that its been pretty exciting the first few days and I think we've hit the mark with the kind of spaces they wanted," Director of Recreation Sports at Purdue, Howard Taylor said.

The addition includes more than 500 pieces of strength and cardiovascular equipment.

Purdue officials said adding this equipment was the number one request.
