FOUNTAIN COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - A 3-year-old child has been killed in a Fountain County crash.

According to Indiana State Police, troopers were called to Interstate 74, about four miles west of the Waynetown exit Friday evening for a two-vehicle crash.

3-year-old Ra-Shawn Kennedy was killed in the crash, and his brother, 2-year-old DaeShawn Kennedy, was taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health in Indianapolis with a severe head injury. Troopers said the children were in the back seat of an SUV and neither child was in a child safety seat.

Troopers said the children's mother, 18-year-old Deishay Scott, of Indianapolis, was west bound on I-74, when she lost control in the snow and ice. Her Trailblazer crossed over the median and into the east bound lanes, hitting a Grand Prix, then rolled over in a ditch.

Scott and two other passengers were also injured, as well as the driver of the Grand Prix.

Troopers believe impaired driving was a factor in the crash, but toxicology results are pending.
