REMINGTON, Ind. (WLFI) - An accident this morning left over involving a semi carrying 16 tons of clothing left t-shirts strewn across Interstate 65.

State Police trooper Chad Witherington said a semi-box trailer rolled over, blocking both lanes of northbound traffic. The accident happened just after 6:00 a.m. this morning north of the Wolcott-Remington exit, near mile marker 205.

Indiana State Police Master Trooper Bill Brooks said traffic is moving now, but may have to be stopped to get the truck out of the road.

"Right now we're useing the emergency lane to keep traffic moving. We may have to shut it down later on to upright the truck," said Brooks.

The driver of the semi was 50-year-old Jorge O. Acevedo of North Carolina. Police said Acavedo told them he felt something go wrong with his truck's steering, causing it to leave the road.

Police said that after the semi left the road it hit an Indiana Department of Transportation digital information sign, then went into the median and rolled onto its side.

Police said the trailer split open, spilling part of its 33,000 pounds of t-shirts over the road and median.

No one was injured in the crash.

Police said there was nearly $200,000 in damage to the semi.
