ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) - Police arrested Martin “Skip” Ockomon on Wednesday on sex charges related to children after he was indicted by a grand jury, Indiana State Police officials said.
Ockomon was originally arrested in late November last year, and police said they’ve been conducting a lengthy investigation into the allegations against him.
Alleged victims came forward in recent years, although they said the incidents happened in the 1990s.
Ockomon, a firefighter and brother of Anderson’s former mayor, was ultimately indicted by a grand jury in Madison County that met in August. He is charged with two counts of criminal deviate conduct — victim compelled by force or imminent threat of force, and one count of sexual misconduct with a minor, both Class B felonies. He was also charged with Class C felony charges of child molesting and criminal confinement, along with two Class D felony charges of child molesting.
Ockomon’s brother, 60-year-old Roger Ockomon, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant for official misconduct, a Class D felony, and assisting a criminal, a Class A misdemeanor. Skip Ockomon's ex-wife, 48-year-old Renee Brewster, was also arrested Wednesday on a felony charge of neglect of a dependent — put in a situation endangering dependent's life or health.
