Man gets 60-year sentence for bank heist

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - A central Indiana man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for his role in a holdup that cost a Muncie credit union more than $250,000.

Stanley Dewayne Wills was sentenced Tuesday two months after a Delaware Circuit Court jury convicted the 33-year-old Muncie man of armed robbery, criminal confinement and other charges. The Star Press reports (http://indy.st/PSKjGX ) that Wills maintains his innocence and intends to appeal his conviction.

His co-defendant, John Repass, was recently sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in the May 2009 holdup at the Industria Centre Federal Credit Union.

Police have recovered only about $55,000 of the money taken in the heist. A judge has issued a restitution order for nearly $195,000 against Wills and Repass.
