DAWSON SPRINGS, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky State Police say an Indiana couple was killed after the motorcycle they were riding was struck by an SUV that became airborne.
Police say the accident Wednesday on Interstate 69 near Dawson Springs killed 65-year-old Edsel R. Zint and his wife, 64-year-old Kathryn L. Zint, of Evansville, Ind.
Police say in a news release the Zints were riding a 2012 Honda Goldwing southbound when it was struck by an SUV that had been going northbound and became airborne when its driver lost control.
Police say the Zints were pronounced dead at the scene and they had both been wearing helmets.
An investigation is continuing. The drive of the SUV and a passenger were taken by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
