Indiana cities going gaga for Google

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Cities across Central Indiana are going gaga for Google.

They all want to be one of the select few the company says it will choose to test a new super-high-speed form of internet access.

Entries include Anderson's Youtube pitch , Muncie's Facebook love letter , Fishers' song and video, and Tippecanoe County's video .

Friday morning on Daybreak, the Mayors of Carmel and Westfield appeared as a team, making a case for collective strength.

Westfield Mayor Andy Cook said, "We have the wonderful opportunity of growth here in Hamilton County and both Carmel and Westfield in being on the edge of growth in one of the fastest-growing counties in all of America."

Carmel Mayor James Brainard added, "It's a new community. So putting this in would be a little bit easier than an older community with an older infrastructure."

And other communities from other corners of Indiana are competing, too, including Fort Wayne and South Bend.

Google says it will make a decision on which communities will get the service before year's end.
