Indiana State Fair: No more paid concerts

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Indiana State Fair Commission is making changes to next year's fair. No paid concerts will take place in 2013.

In this year’s fair, paid shows were moved to downtown Indianapolis after 2011’s deadly stage collapse during Sugarland’s performance.

The State Fair Commission says the downtown concerts which included shows by Barry Manilow and Pat Benatar "didn't work."

Figures released Thursday show those concerts only brought in 40 percent of expected revenue.

The state fair director says there will still be free concerts at next year's fair.
