Sheriff races highlight primary night

CASS COUNTY, Ind. - Three open sheriff seats and a prosecutor race will be the highlight of primary election night in counties surrounding Lafayette.

In Cass County, Sheriff Gene Isaacs is at the end of his second term, and six Republicans and two Democrats are vying for the spot.

Gary Armstrong, Michael Day, George Franklin, Randy Pryor, Steve Thompson, and Tom Wallace all filed for the G.O.P. primary.

Democrats Bill Roller and Randy Rozzi will contend for their party's nomination.

The White County Sheriff's race features five Republicans in the primary. They are A.J. Alletto, James Bolen, Bill Brooks, Marty Cotterman, and Patrick Shafer.

In Fountain County, Sheriff Bobby Bass is finishing his second term, and three Republicans have filed to run for the position. They are Bill Sanders, Dana Jeffries, and Tom Minnicus.
No Democrats filed for the primary.

Bass is opposing incumbent Republican Terry Ellingwood for the Fountain County District 3 Commissioner seat.

In Carroll County, incumbent Prosecutor Tricia Thompson faces Rob Ives and James Ackerman in the Republican primary.
