Docs: Crime spree suspect prepared will

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The man accused of going on a multi-day crime spree that included killing a man had his will and testament put together before the crimes, according to court documents.

Harold Bishop, who also went by several other names including Zimbabwe, was charged on Thursday with one count of murder, three counts of attempted murder, three counts of aggravated battery, two counts of arson and a sentence enhancement for using a firearm.

The probable cause affidavit outlines that Bishop got his will together before shootings that happened in early September. Officers arrested Bishop on Wednesday after a Boone County farmer found him hiding on his property in a vehicle.

In addition to getting his will in order, Bishop traveled to Kentucky the morning before the crime spree began. He gave a friend a book of poetry and asked the friend to give it to Bishop’s brother if something happened to Bishop, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Bishop is accused of being the triggerman in three different shootings in one weekend in Indianapolis. In one of those shootings, he’s accused of setting someone’s house on fire and shooting two people as they escaped from the burning structure. Several witnesses indicated some of Bishop’s targets may have owed him money, according to court documents.
