INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Republican vice presidential Paul Ryan is rebutting a Democratic Senate ad by asking Hoosiers to "please, please, send us Richard Mourdock."
Democrats have been using a clip of Ryan disagreeing with Mourdock's view on compromise to argue that Democrat Joe Donnelly should win Indiana's open Senate seat.
But Ryan says Hoosiers need to overturn the Democratic leadership in the Senate, in part by helping Mourdock win in November.
Ryan spoke Monday at a fundraiser in Indianapolis.
Mourdock aide Brose McVey says Mourdock met with Ryan before the speech. He says the two talked about Gov. Mitch Daniels' fiscal management of the state.
Mourdock is running in a tight race with Donnelly after defeating longtime Sen. Richard Lugar in May's Republican primary.
