RICHMOND, Ind. (WISH) - Amy Hockett, who was convicted of murdering and neglect in the starvation death of her 3-month-old son , Khaiden Hockett, was sentenced to 60 years incarceration on Tuesday.

The sentencing hearing for Hockett, 22, was in Wayne County Superior Court 2 at 1:30 p.m. She was found guilty during a trial in February.

Khaiden’s father, 25-year-old Joseph Pierson, was also found guilty of reckless homicide and neglect but mentally ill. His sentencing has been continued and a date has not been set as of Tuesday afternoon.

Khaiden was found unresponsive inside the couple's home at 504 S. 12th street in Richmond on Feb. 5th, 2012.

A pathologist ruled the case a homicide, with the cause of death cited as dehydration because of starvation.

The court said it took the jury about six hours to deliberate, before they reached a verdict.
