Violent sex predator sentenced

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - A 20-year-old man has been sentenced in Tippecanoe County for attempted child molestation.

Prosecutor Pat Harrington said Justin Stetler received a total sentence of 14 years.

Harrington said Stetler was on leave from the Army in December of 2008.

On Christmas Eve, Stetler was at the home of a 12-year-old boy who was in a bedroom playing video games.

Stetler pinned the boy on the bed in an attempt to molest him, but was interrupted by the boy's brother and best friend.

Stetler has been declared a violent sex predator and must register for life as a sex offender.
