LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Lafayette police said two former fugitives were arrested Thursday night, one after a short foot chase with an officer and another that turned himself in.

According to Lafayette police Lieutenant Brad Hayworth, 42-year-old Daniel James Horton was spotted by a Lafayette officer walking down the street near Underwood Street and Ulen Lane. There was a short foot chase before the officer arrested Horton around 8 p.m. Thursday.

Horton was wanted for possession of methamphetamine. He was featured on Fugitive Search last month.

Lieutenant Hayworth said 37-year-old William Dean James turned himself in at the Tippecanoe County Jail, also around 8 p.m. Thursday.

He was featured on fugitive search this Tuesday. James was wanted for fraud charges after he allegedly stole and used someone else's credit card.
