WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A suspect was arrested in a field near Lindberg and Klondike roads in West Lafayette after a routine traffic stop late Monday night.

Police said they pulled a vehicle over at U.S. 52 and Klondike Road at 11:19 Monday night. They said the vehicle then sped away and led police on a chase.

The chase ended on Goddard Court in West Lafayette just before 11:30 p.m. where the suspect parked a car at a nearby residence, and fled the scene.

The suspect was caught in a field behind the Klondike branch of the Tippecanoe County Public Library.

As of midnight Tuesday, the West Lafayette Police Department and the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office were still investigating.
