FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) - A routine traffic stop in Frankfort lead to the recovery of a stolen vehicle Saturday.

The headlight violation stop was during Operation Pullover near Main and Morrison streets. The driver stopped abruptly and fled the scene, leaving the car in gear.

It went down Morrison Street, ran over two street signs, and hit a parked car.

Police searched for the suspect, but stopped due to extreme heat.

The car was reported stolen from the 700 block of West Morrison Street.

The case is under investigation.
