CAMBY, Ind. (WISH) - The stepmother of a toddler who died after suffering skull fractures while in her care now faces decades behind bars.

Autumn Dunn pleaded guilty to neglect of a dependent resulting in death. She had previously faced a murder charge. She was sentenced Wednesday to 30 years in prison.

According to court documents, she admitted to investigators that she lost her temper when her 2-year-old stepson, Skyler, was crying and dropped him onto the floor more than once.

Family friends told 24-Hour News 8 that the boy’s mother had expressed concerns to Child Protective Services after her son returned from weekend visits with his father and stepmother with bruises. CPS told us it could not comment on specific cases.
