Shelbyville officer arrested, suspended

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - The Shelbyville Police Department has suspended one of its officers after he was arrested on Sunday.

Police department officials said officer Aaron Calvert was arrested on Sunday on a preliminary charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Shelby County Sheriff’s Department found Calvert intoxicated when they responded to a car crash. Calvert was the driver. He was off duty at the time and wasn’t in a patrol car.

The police department suspended Calvert without pay pending the outcome of his case.
