GREENSBURG, Ind. (AP) - A Greensburg man has pleaded guilty to murder in the June 2011 beating death of his girlfriend's 12-year-old son.

Thirty-year-old Waldo L. Jones entered the plea Thursday in Decatur Superior Court in connection with the death of Devin Lee Parsons. The Greensburg Daily News reports Jones faces at least 45 years in prison when he's sentenced Dec. 12.

Authorities have said Jones and 30-year-old Tasha Parsons beat the boy after he hid illegally obtained prescription painkillers from the two adults. The woman was sentenced to 60 years in prison in July after she also pleaded guilty to murder.

Greensburg Police Department Detective William Meyerrose testified Jones told friends that he and the woman beat the boy to get him to tell them where he hid the painkillers.
