LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Police received a report of a robbery at the Red Roof Inn in Lafayette Thursday morning.
The robbery was reported to police at approximately 3:50 a.m. The Red Roof Inn is located in the 4200 block of State Road 26 in Lafayette.
Police said the robber walked in and punched the clerk in the jaw before getting away on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. At last check, the suspect was still at large. K9 units were called into assist with the search.
The clerk says the man who robbed the inn was black, wearing a black ski mask, green hoodie, blue jeans and black and white tennis shoes. He's also described as being roughly 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds.
Officers on the scene told News 18 the clerk was doing OK. The investigation is ongoing.
