LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A Lafayette man was sentenced to six years behind bars after pleading guilty to robbing a gas station and grocery store.

Tippecanoe County Prosecutor Pat Harrington said Anthony Herald, 44, was sentenced to six years in prison and four years of supervised probation Thursday.

As News 18 reported last November, prosecutors said Herald stole cigarettes and money from the Gas America station on Sagamore Parkway Nov. 15, 2012. Three days later they said he stole money from the Aldi on Sagamore Parkway.

Harrington said Herald displayed a toy firearm in his waistband.

During an interview with police, Harrington said Herald admitted to both robberies.
