NEWTON COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - It's been decades, and three murder cases in Newton County are still unsolved.

Newton County coroner Scott McCord tells NewsChannel 18, two young men found dead in a field in 1983 remain unidentified.

McCord said they are both linked to one name, Larry Eyler, who murdured dozens of boys in the 1980s.

However, an unidentified female was found in 1988 in a different field and the murderer is still unknown.

"These are somebody's kids and I keep thinking that if it were my kid, I'd go to my grave looking for them. So I'm sure somebody is out there looking for these kids, they just don't know where to look,” said McCord.

Hear why, at the 6:00 newscast, the Newton County coroner reopened these cold cases when he found the victims' remains stored in a county office.
