Police: Two men found in car with heroin

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Two men are sitting in jail after police say they were found with heroin and a syringe inside a car.

According to the Lafayette Police Department, around 5:15 p.m. Thursday, police received a report of a suspicious vehicle located at the AOK Campground at 225 E. County Road 300 South in Lafayette.

The men were identified as 35-year-old Troy L. Cudworth of Lafayette and 33-year-old Stuart W. Bookwalter of Attica, Ind.

Investigators (with the help of the Lafayette Police K9 unit) found more than 18 grams of heroin inside the car, along with a syringe.

Both Cudworth and Bookwalter were charged with possession of heroin and possession of a syringe. Bookwalter was also charged with dealing heroin.

The investigation will continue, and anyone with information should contact Lafayette police or the Tippecanoe County Drug Task Force at 765-807-1200, or WE-TIP at 800-78-CRIME.
